{"id":20687,"date":"2021-01-06T11:03:26","date_gmt":"2021-01-06T17:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iaeimagazine.org\/?p=20687"},"modified":"2021-02-01T11:08:40","modified_gmt":"2021-02-01T17:08:40","slug":"iaei-2020-annual-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iaeimagazine.org\/columns\/editorial\/iaei-2020-annual-report\/","title":{"rendered":"IAEI 2020 Annual Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>No one, not even the United States Government, could have planned for the negative impact COVID-19 would have on every aspect of life.\u00a0<span>IAEI\u00a0<\/span>was not immune to those negative impacts. Although January, February, and early-March started\u00a0 off well for <span>IAEI,\u00a0<\/span>the national shutdown and the March\u00a0<span>17th\u00a0<\/span><span>IAEI\u00a0<\/span>work from<span>\u00a0<\/span>home<span> mandate caused<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><span>all<\/span>\u00a0<span>IAEI<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>activities<span>\u00a0<\/span>to<span>\u00a0<\/span>come<span>\u00a0<\/span>to\u00a0a<span>\u00a0<\/span>sudden temporary halt. Although\u00a0<span>staff\u00a0<\/span>continued working from home for the next 2\u00a0<span>1\/2\u00a0<\/span>months, the amount of activity and revenue into the\u00a0<span>IAEI\u00a0<\/span>international office slowed<span>\u00a0<\/span>dramatically.<\/p>\n<p>With\u00a0<span>all\u00a0<\/span>revenue streams suffering,\u00a0<span>IAEI\u00a0<\/span>was forced to\u00a0<span>make\u00a0<\/span>difficult decisions to offset substantial revenue losses. COVID-19<span>has\u00a0<\/span>forced cost reductions ranging from eliminating\u00a0<span>two\u00a0<\/span>Director Level\u00a0<span>staff\u00a0<\/span>positions and reducing the paperweight of our bi-monthly<span>\u00a0<\/span>magazine.<span>\u00a0<\/span>By<span>\u00a0<\/span><span>drastically<\/span>\u00a0reducing<span>\u00a0<\/span>expenses,<span>\u00a0<\/span>we<span>\u00a0<\/span><span>will<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>avoid dipping into the reserves to cover the\u00a0<span>actual\u00a0<\/span>annual expenses. (See financials dated October\u00a0<span>31,<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>2020)<\/p>\n<p>On June\u00a0<span>1,\u00a0<\/span>2020, a new President\/CEO started, and the entire\u00a0<span>staff\u00a0<\/span>was brought back to the\u00a0<span>IAEI\u00a0<\/span>office on June 8, 2020. Thankfully, and working under the strictest CDC guidelines, the International Office\u00a0<span>has\u00a0<\/span>remained continuously open and free of any COVID-19 infections. The\u00a0<span>IAEI\u00a0<\/span>International Office is 100%\u00a0<span>fully\u00a0<\/span>staffed and working at 100%\u00a0<span>full\u00a0<\/span>capacity. A recent report by the\u00a0<span>ASAE\u00a0<\/span>indicated that 92% of Associations in the US were\u00a0<span>still\u00a0<\/span>working remotely\u00a0<span>as\u00a0<\/span>of September\u00a0<span>1,\u00a0<\/span>2020.\u00a0<span>As\u00a0<\/span>you\u00a0<span>will\u00a0<\/span>see in the 2020 Highlight, much\u00a0<span>has\u00a0<\/span>been accomplished in a short time since<span>\u00a0<\/span>June.<\/p>\n<h2>2020 Highlights<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Projected to complete 26 Webinars<\/li>\n<li>Completed 32 onsite trainings<\/li>\n<li>Projected to sell $800,000 in publications<\/li>\n<li>Projected to earn $925,000 in dues revenue due to strategic push September -December<\/li>\n<li>Launched new IAEI.org website<\/li>\n<li>Created new IAEICourses.org website<\/li>\n<li>Created Digital Education Department<\/li>\n<li>Implemented the use of Your Membership (YM) software<\/li>\n<li>Built New State of the Art On-Site Digital Recording Studio for training<\/li>\n<li>Developed New Brand Identity with Professional Marketing Consultant<\/li>\n<li>Developed and implemented a Social Media Presence Plan<\/li>\n<li>Developed a Comprehensive Marketing Plan with a Professional Consultant<\/li>\n<li>Created a Targeted Audience Program<\/li>\n<li>Created new NexGen Program for members under 45 years old launching January 2021<\/li>\n<li>Hired New Director of Digital Education (New Position)<\/li>\n<li>Hired New Digital and Social Media Coordinator (New Position)<\/li>\n<li>Increased Social Media Presence 20X<\/li>\n<li>Hired Director of Membership Services<\/li>\n<li>Reorganized Publications Department (Eliminated Director Position)\n<ul>\n<li>New Positions: Editor and Chief<\/li>\n<li>Creative and Production Manager<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Created Technical Services Department (Segregated out of former Education Department)<\/li>\n<li>Reviewed all contracts and legally Ended Disastrous Sales Contract with Mohanna<\/li>\n<li>Leased new Multifunction Copier Printer to reduce printing costs<\/li>\n<li>Built New Copier\/Workroom at IO<\/li>\n<li>Created a new Partnership with ICC\n<ul>\n<li>ICC will be selling all of our publications on their website<\/li>\n<li>ICC will partner with IAEI for a \u201cJoint Publication\u201d of the One and Two Family<\/li>\n<li>IAEI will become the ICC \u201cExclusive Digital Electrical Safety Provider\u201d and advertise our training on the same webpage as their other trainings<\/li>\n<li>Working toward joint certification with ICC for Multi- hat inspectors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Looking Forward To 2021<\/h2>\n<h3>THE YEAR OF TRANSFORMATION<\/h3>\n<p>As with the rest of the world, IAEI will be elated to put 2020 behind us and begin looking forward to 2021. The current operating account contains 3.5 months of operating cash on hand, and our reserves account has 2.5 months of operating cash on hand per the September 30, 2020 Balance Sheet. Our\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaei.org\/resource\/resmgr\/magazine\/2021-01\/2020-01-annualreport-audit-p.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2019 Audit found<\/a><\/b>\u00a0 no significant findings, and all 2019 tax returns were filed in a timely manner. &gt;\u00a0<b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaei.org\/resource\/resmgr\/magazine\/2021-01\/2020-01-annualreport-audit-p.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Download Audit<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A recent report by the ASAE indicated that 92% of Associations in the US were still working remotely as of September 1, 2020.
